Chapter 26: Face Your Fear, Cannon Fodder!

Hearing Dart's answer, Lu Xiao smiled very happily.

He was just driven a bit mad by the Dark Prison, but that didn't mean he was stupid.

He had heard the squad members' conversation clearly.

He would never allow outsiders to throw their weight around on his country's soil, even if he wasn't sure if he still counted as a citizen of this nation.

But that did not affect his resolve to kill.

He raised a hand to his forehead, his long fingers and distinct knuckles visibly tense.

A flash of bloodlust passed deep within his eyes.

He tried hard to control the expression on his face, afraid of frightening Little Rain beside him.

Little Rain felt Lu Xiao's body trembling slightly and asked curiously.

"Are you scared?"

Hearing this, Lu Xiao controlled his expression and offered her a relatively gentle smile.

"I'm just a little excited!"

"Yes, just a little!!!"

…………

The villa had fallen.

Dozens of corpses dressed in black suits lay haphazardly in the corridors.

Without exception, each had a hole in their forehead.

Blood soaked the entire floor.

Even on the steps outside the villa's main entrance, blood had seeped out.

The luxurious villa had become a slaughterhouse.

"Bang!"

A door was kicked open.

Mr. Liu sat on the sofa, a red wine glass pinched in his hand.

The crimson liquid inside looked like blood under the light.

Mr. Liu did not look back at those who entered, simply savoring his wine.

The group that entered wore special forces gear and numbered seven.

The leader made a tactical hand signal.

Soldiers immediately stepped forward and hoisted the ornately patterned mirror onto a shoulder.

Mr. Liu did not try to stop any of this, his body slumping into the sofa.

"Can I ask you a favor?"

His voice sounded hoarse.

The soldiers turned to look at him.

"Can you kill me here?"

This was the outcome Mr. Liu most desired now.

The final image the Magic Mirror had shown him lingered incessantly in his mind.

It was a room with metal walls on all sides, containing a headless, obese corpse.

Compared to that fate, Mr. Liu much preferred being shot right here in his own villa.

However, the soldiers did not respond to his request.

The leader merely gave a casual wave of his hand.

Everyone filed out of his room in an orderly manner.

Lying on the sofa, Mr. Liu muttered to himself.

"So the outcome really can't be changed?"

…………

Outside the villa, seven dark muzzles were trained on the main entrance.

They belonged to the guns of the City Fire Squad.

At the villa entrance, a special forces soldier performed a tactical peek out.

The moment his head appeared, a hail of bullets rained down on it.

Even wearing a Warden-issued bulletproof helmet, he was instantly headshot.

His head exploded like a watermelon, red and white matter splattering everywhere.

Simultaneously, several grenades were tossed through the main entrance.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Sparks flew.

Dart issued commands in a calm tone.

"Alternate fire!"

Rat-a-tat-tat!

Rat-a-tat-tat!!

The bullets were fired out within half a meter.

Like the scorching breath of fiery dragons.

Click!

A smoke grenade was tossed out.

Moments later, thick smoke billowed.

Dart activated the smoke vision function on his goggles.

In his field of vision, there was not a single person in the smoke.

He instantly understood the opponent's choice.

"They've abandoned the main entrance!"

Slick let out a cold laugh.

"Then they're in for a world of hurt!"

Dart keyed his mic.

"Mr. Lu Xiao, they aren't using the main door!"

Lu Xiao's voice came through the mic.

"I can already see them!"

Elsewhere.

A section of the villa's wall was blown open, creating a hole.

Over a dozen special forces soldiers emerged orderly from the breach.

They advanced in a tactical formation, alert and watchful of their surroundings.

Just as the last soldier exited the hole, a voice sounded near them.

"Hey, friends! Surprise!"

They followed the sound.

By the moonlight, they saw a grotesque figure perched in a tree not far away.

The figure hung upside down from a branch, its head twisted to look at them at an unnatural angle.

A crimson tongue was pressed against its forehead.

Rat-a-tat-tat!

Rat-a-tat-tat!!

They were professionally trained soldiers.

Though terrifying to see in the middle of the night, they opened fire on the figure without hesitation.

After dropping from the tree, Lu Xiao crawled twistedly through the shadows in an unnatural posture.

He dodged the incoming bullets one by one.

His speed was immense. In under two seconds, he was upon the squad of soldiers.

Still crawling, he swung a palm.

Thwack!

The leg of the soldier struck by his palm instantly vanished.

A piercing scream erupted.

Simultaneously, a hail of bullets rained down on that spot.

But Lu Xiao was already long gone.

The soldier who had lost a leg was riddled like a sieve by his comrades' fire.

"Shit! What kind of monster is that?"

Finally, a soldier cried out in terror.

"God damn it! Why did another anomalous entity suddenly appear...!"

Before he could finish, he could make no more sounds.

His vision was spinning.

His neck had been utterly shattered by a swipe of Lu Xiao's palm.

"Oh ho! You are so fragile!"

"As fragile as paper!"

Thwack!

Another palm shot out.

The head of the soldier struck by his palm instantly exploded.

Lu Xiao stretched out his crimson tongue and licked the tip of his nose.

Under the moonlight, his figure was utterly terrifying.

Covered in blood and brain matter.

"Surprised? My friends from afar!"

"Face your fear, cannon fodder!"

Just then, a grenade landed at Lu Xiao's feet.

Lu Xiao quickly bent down, picked it up, and stuffed the primed grenade into a soldier's mouth.

Under the soldier's utterly horrified gaze.

Boom!

The grenade detonated.

His upper body instantly turned to fragments, leaving only a pair of mangled legs behind.

Lu Xiao turned his head, his mouth stretching wide into a grin.

"Boom!"

A single word left his lips. His face was still spattered with bits of flesh, yet his expression was that of a gentleman.

This scene left a profound shadow in the minds of the surviving soldiers.

…………

Dart looked at his tactical watch.

"Three minutes have passed."

As the words left his mouth, Little Rain's astonished voice came through.

"Look!"

Under the moonlight, a young man was strolling casually, a mirror slung over his shoulder.

As if he were taking a leisurely walk in his own backyard.

Tattered pieces of flesh still clung to his clothes.

Blood dripped from the hem of his garment onto the ground.

Watching this, Slick couldn't help but shiver.

"Does this guy not care about his image at all?"

He voiced his confusion.

Right at that moment.

"Thump!"

Two members of the squad instantly convulsed and collapsed to the ground.
