Chapter 4: Doctor

‘Hmm! He really is a doctor with excellent medical ethics!’

Lu Xiao thought in his heart.

However, Glimmer was on the verge of tears.

He grabbed his broken palm and said tremblingly.

‘I have complete trust in your diagnosis, but there are still many things I need to do!’

“Why don’t you reattach my hand first, and I will come back for treatment when I have time?”

The prison doctor nodded.

“Come with me first!”

Then he turned to Lu Xiao.

“My friend! I look forward to your visit!”

As the prison doctor left, the members of the support team also departed.

The walkie-talkie on Dart’s body emitted some static noises.

“Dart! Have you arrived at the base yet?”

Dart hurriedly picked up the walkie-talkie to respond.

“We have arrived safely!”

Heavy breathing could be heard on the other end of the walkie-talkie.

“What’s the situation with the target?”

Dart glanced at Lu Xiao, who was staring curiously, and his lips twitched.

‘The target's condition... seems to be okay!’

…………

In a room filled with white lights.

Lu Xiao lay on an operating table.

At that moment, his body was covered in tubes.

The surrounding machines emitted a series of chaotic beeps.

An old man in a white coat was cursing loudly.

“Shit! Who stitched up this wound? If I see him, I will shove his head up his ass!”

He pointed at the gruesome scar on Lu Xiao’s chest.

“This damn sewing technique! Even my long dead great grandmother wouldn’t sew shoes like this!”

He said angrily.

‘I've lived this long, and this is the first time I have seen someone sew a wound that looks like a bloody hemorrhoid!’

‘Doctor! Calm down! Your heart rate is rising rapidly!’

The doctor took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down.

‘Sorry, I lost my temper! Did I scare you?’

He forced a kind smile as he looked at Lu Xiao lying on the operating table.

Lu Xiao grimaced, about to speak.

The doctor quickly grabbed a white cloth and covered his face with it.

‘Oh! Shit!’

‘Did you guys even bother cleaning him up before bringing him here?’

‘Doctor... it was you who insisted on bringing him here immediately...’

Someone muttered weakly.

At that moment, Lu Xiao felt utterly exhausted.

Did these humans not care at all about his feelings?

Indeed, he should have asked the bird beaked prison doctor from earlier who was much kinder. He thought to himself in his heart.

Soon, a staff member in a white coat approached to prepare to clean Lu Xiao’s body.

Lu Xiao cooperated by lying on his stomach, exposing his back.

After all, scrubbing the back came first.

The staff member looked at Lu Xiao’s exposed back and couldn’t help but gasp.

Not to mention the clotted bloodstains, the gruesome wounds covering his entire back left him at a loss for how to proceed.

The doctor's impatient voice rang out.

‘Just scrub him clean already!’

The staff member sighed helplessly.

‘Doctor! You should take a look yourself!’

Upon hearing this, the doctor stepped forward and, upon seeing Lu Xiao's back, blurted out a curse.

“Shit!”

After pondering for a while, he uttered a sentence that surprised everyone present.

“It seems we should first hire a professional scrubber for this gentleman!”

“…”

Several hours later.

The professional scrubber emerged with a refreshed expression.

“Phew! Thirty years in the business, and this is the first time scrubbing was so refreshing!”

Upon seeing the professional scrubber emerge, the doctor instructed the people around him.

‘Take him for an F level memory erasure!’

The scrubber did not refuse as this was something he had been informed of upon arrival.

He gripped the doctor's hand tightly and exclaimed excitedly.

‘Sir! If there is ever another opportunity like this, please do not hesitate to contact me again!’

The doctor nodded with a kind smile.

A group of staff members then returned to the room.

At this point, Lu Xiao's entire body had been scrubbed clean of all dirt, revealing the natural colour of his skin.

The doctor looked at Lu Xiao kindly and said.

‘Friend! How do you feel now?’

Lu Xiao waved his arm.

‘Sir! I have never felt so relaxed!’

The doctor nodded and pushed his monocle up his nose.

‘Then, please cooperate with our research!’

Lu Xiao grinned and this time his smile didn't scare anyone.

‘Are you going to slice me up?’

‘No need for that!’

Saying that, he glanced around and picked up a scalpel from beside the operating table.

Pfft!

The scalpel pierced his chest.

He still had a smile on his face, holding a piece of bloody flesh in his hand.

“Tell me where to cut and I will do it myself!”

Staff: “...”

Even the doctor’s facial muscles twitched involuntarily.

Lu Xiao set the bloody flesh aside and looked at the cotton thread used for suturing.

He picked up the cotton thread and began to sew himself up.

While he was sewing, he said,

‘Actually, seeing people makes me very happy!’

‘It's been three years. Do you know how I have been living these past three years?’

‘Sure enough, humans should live with other humans!’

He chattered on and on but his hands didn't slow down at all.

“If you have any questions, feel free to ask!”

“I will tell you everything I know!”

“If there’s anything else you want to study, please let me know! I will cooperate fully!”

By the time he finished speaking, Lu Xiao had already finished sewing up the wound on his chest.

He even took the time to tie a neat bow with the thread.

The doctor looked at the second bulge on Lu Xiao’s chest. . ‘Hemorrhoids’.

For a while, he forgot what he had originally intended to say.

The staff members nearby were already stunned for a long time.

“Hey! How on earth did you manage to do such an eerie thing while still chatting and laughing so casually?”

“Are you even human?”

Of course, they dared not voice these thoughts.

After all, everything this young man did seemed so bizarre.

The doctor adjusted his monocle and then gave a kind smile.

He reached out and picked up the bloodied piece of flesh, handing it to the staff member beside him.

‘Take it for analysis!’

After giving his instructions, he looked at Lu Xiao again, his expression was gentle.

“According to the information we have obtained, you only recently appeared on the outskirts of the Dark Prison?”

Lu Xiao paused in surprise.

“The Dark Prison refers to that dreadful place where I had spent three years?”

The doctor nodded solemnly.

“That’s correct! According to the creatures we have already captured, they refer to that place as ‘Prison’!”

“Additionally, since it’s perpetually shrouded in darkness, we call it the ‘Dark Prison’!”

“Until now, we have never discovered human life in the outskirts of the Dark Prison!”

“A week ago, our field team detected signs of life activity through our special instruments!”
