Chapter 7: Minor Surgery

At this moment, Glimmer's face was filled with despair.

He was slowly dragged back to his original position by the prison doctor.

Faint traces of blood remained where he was dragged.

After Lu Xiao entered the room, he politely pressed the door closing button on the wall.

Bright white light flooded the metal-cast room.

In the centre of the room stood a desk, with nothing else in sight.

The prison doctor lifted Glimmer as though he were a small chicken.

Glimmer tried to struggle, but the prison doctor's words plunged him into despair.

‘My friend! I need your help!’

Lu Xiao nodded without hesitation.

‘No need to thank me, my friend! What can I do for you?’

The prison doctor let out a strange laugh.

‘He he he! Help me restrain this mischievous patient!’

‘I really can't use my own hands!’

Lu Xiao walked over to the operating table and glanced at the leather straps used to restrain patients.

Without a word, he skillfully tied up the struggling Glimmer lying on the operating table.

The prison doctor finally freed his hands.

He extended a finger, the surgical knife embedded between his fingers gleaming with a faint metallic light.

Just as he was about to cut open Glimmer’s chest, Lu Xiao spoke up to stop him.

‘My friend! You seem to have forgotten to administer anaesthesia!’

Upon hearing this, the prison doctor froze in place.

The air seemed to freeze in that moment.

Glimmer, lying on the operating table, had lost the sparkle in his eyes.

‘It's over! This madman dares to question the prison doctor's medical skills!’

If there was a chance of survival before Lu Xiao spoke, now there was virtually no chance of survival.

He knew that questioning the prison doctor's medical skills would drive him into a frenzy.

No one had seen how terrifying a furious prison doctor could be, because everyone who had seen it was dead.

Every piece of data on the information panel of each containment unit was the result of the sacrifice of one or countless lives.

The air grew cold in that moment.

Lu Xiao seemed unaware, his face bearing a hint of reluctance as he continued.

‘If we don't administer anaesthesia to the patient, they will suffer greatly!’

‘Thank you!’

Glimmer, lying on the operating table, felt like crying but he couldn't.

He looked at the prison doctor, who stood motionless in place.

At that moment, the prison doctor’s body was trembling slightly, as if he were on the brink of rage.

“He he he!”

A strange laugh echoed through the bird-beak mask.

The voice was extremely hoarse.

Just hearing that laugh made Glimmer feel as though he had plunged into an icy abyss.

The fear of death engulfed him.

Thanks to his regular training, he managed not to lose control of his bladder at that moment.

Just as Glimmer closed his eyes, preparing to accept death calmly, the prison doctor's voice echoed throughout the detention room once more.

‘Thank you for the reminder, my friend!’

The prison doctor withdrew his finger and then reached up to support his chin.

“But I forgot to prepare the anaesthetic in advance, and there are no materials here to make it. What should I do?”

Hearing this, Glimmer felt a glimmer of hope.

His voice trembled.

“Doctor! Please allow me to prepare. Since there’s no anaesthetic, I am not ready for the surgery. I will come back another day. How about that?”

The prison doctor sighed.

The breath passed through his bird-like beak, emitting an extremely piercing screech.

“There’s no other choice!”

Saying this, he reached out to untie the restraints binding Glimmer.

Just then, Lu Xiao grinned.

“Don’t worry, my friend! I have a solution!”

Hearing this, Glimmer immediately turned to look at Lu Xiao.

The smile on Lu Xiao's face, in his eyes, was no different from the smile of a demon,

‘I really want to thank you!’

Glimmer completely gave up struggling.

Lu Xiao walked to the operating table and gently lifted Glimmer's head.

Then he delivered a fierce blow to the back of Glimmer's head with his hand.

Glimmer’s eyes rolled back suddenly, and he fainted.

The prison doctor witnessed this scene and seemed greatly inspired.

“My friend! If you were to become a doctor, you would definitely be an excellent one!”

Hearing the prison doctor’s praise, Lu Xiao’s face immediately turned shy.

Then, he pointed at the unconscious Glimmer and asked his question.

‘What exactly is wrong with this mischievous patient?’

He asked out of pure curiosity.

The prison doctor extended a finger and spoke calmly.

‘It's not a serious issue, just a minor surgery will cure it!’

As he spoke, his finger had already slit open Glimmer's chest.

The sound of a knife cutting through a burlap sack was heard.

Lu Xiao hurriedly looked down.

Inside his slit chest, a bright red heart was beating strongly.

Attached to that heart was a tumour the size of a pigeon's egg.

The tumour was pulsating in sync with the heartbeat.

The prison doctor's hands moved swiftly.

With a gentle flick of his fingers, the tumour was already cut off.

At the same time, blood gushed out like a fountain from the slit.

Lu Xiao acted quickly, dodging the spurting blood with a swift movement.

The prison doctor remained calm, his surgical knife flickering between his fingers as he swiftly removed the remaining tumour.

Then he produced a piece of cotton thread from somewhere.

He quickly sutured the wound on the heart.

Glimmer's heart no longer spurted blood outward, but the chest cavity was filled with pooled blood.

Lu Xiao stared intently, his lifeless eyes fixed on the scene.

At that moment, the prison doctor suddenly felt a pang of regret.

‘Damn it! I forgot to prepare the toolbox in advance!’

‘This surgery was too rushed!’

Upon hearing this, Lu Xiao scanned the room with his eyes.

In the detention cell, there was nothing else besides the operating table.

However, Lu Xiao quickly fixed his gaze on his own clothes.

It was a pure white short-sleeved T-shirt.

This shirt had been given to him by the staff after he arrived here.

He reached out and gently rubbed it.

‘Hmm! It's cotton!’

He quickly took off his clothes and stuffed them into Glimmer's torn chest.

Blood instantly soaked the cotton T-shirt.

The blood accumulated in the chest cavity was quickly absorbed by the T-shirt.

Upon seeing this, the prison doctor let out a high-pitched voice.

‘My friend! You are a genius!’

‘Although this will cause the patient to become infected, as long as I prescribe some medication after the surgery, the complications from the infection will be negligible!’

Lu Xiao, now shirtless, smiled shyly.

‘My friend! Thank you for your recognition!’

Thus, with the combined efforts of the two madmen, the chaotic minor surgery proceeded unusually smoothly.

On the other side, in front of the surveillance screen, the atmosphere fell into absolute silence, so quiet that a pin dropping could be heard.

The silence lasted for a full five minutes.

‘Doctor! He... is he really a human?’

A staff member asked, his voice trembling.
