Chapter 12: High-Rank Entity

Upon hearing this, Enzo was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter.

‘Doctor! It seems that this containment subject isn't very reliable after all!’

‘Are you trying to stall for time by investigating me?’

‘I must say, your plan is perfect, Doctor!’

The doctor's face turned grim.

Enzo then patted Lu Xiao on the shoulder.

“Subject S292, I reviewed your records when I was flying over on the plane!”

“Would you consider transferring to our U01 asylum?”

“The conditions there are far superior to those here!”

After hearing Enzo’s words, Lu Xiao turned to look at the Doctor, a look of confusion on his face.

“Is transferring still possible?”

The Doctor snorted coldly but still replied.

‘In principle, it's possible, as long as the containment subject doesn't have a strong desire to escape and exhibit aggressive behaviour!’  

Lu Xiao nodded his head, then turned to Enzo and bared his pearly white teeth.  

Between his teeth were remnants of lettuce from the hamburger he had eaten two days earlier.  

‘Thank you for your kindness, but I have no intention of moving to another place!’  

Enzo didn't get angry.

“No problem! If you change your mind, you can contact me!”  

Lu Xiao’s face broke into an eerie smile.  

“There shouldn't be a chance for me to contact you!”  

As soon as he said this, the atmosphere in the room grew tense.  

Everyone could sense the intense killing intent emanating from Lu Xiao.  

Enzo froze in place.  

His expression turned grim, as if facing a formidable enemy.

Because Lu Xiao's killing intent was directed at him.

The Doctor noticed something was amiss and hurriedly intervened.

‘S292! If you kill someone, your rank will be downgraded to K, and the Warden Organisation will eliminate you!’

Upon hearing the Doctor's words, Lu Xiao shrugged indifferently.

His lifeless eyes fixed on Enzo, his lips curled into a smile.

‘He's not a human!’

Enzo's face betrayed a hint of mockery.

‘You say that I am not a human? What evidence do you have? You can't deny my human identity just based on your words!’

Lu Xiao grew impatient and turned to the Doctor.

‘Doctor! Is it that troublesome to kill a lowly life form?’  

The doctor quickly snapped out of it, his expression growing somber.  

He didn't doubt Lu Xiao's words.  

After all, Lu Xiao had lived in the Dark Prison's world for three years, dealing with weirdness every day.  

But he still nodded his head..

“Indeed! If we can prove that he’s a strange being, then we can kill him without hesitation!”

Hearing this, Lu Xiao grew irritated.

“But what if I can’t prove it and just kill him directly? What will the consequences be?”

The doctor spoke solemnly.

“You will be purged!”

“This is so annoying! Staying in the Dark Prison is more comfortable after all!”

After saying this, Lu Xiao left without looking back.

As he was about to leave, he said one more sentence.

‘Since you insist on proving it, go find my friend, the Prison Doctor! He will definitely be able to prove it!’

Hearing this, the doctor's eyes lit up.

Just then, Enzo raised his gun again, aiming it at the doctor.

‘Bang!’

The gunshot rang out.

The doctor pushed his monocle up.

He was unharmed.

At that moment, Dart was holding Enzo down on the ground.

Blood was gushing out of his abdomen.

‘Take him to the prison doctor! Dart, you can come too. It can serve as the price of the treatment!’

Dart nodded his head.

At that moment, Dart's squad members finally snapped out of it.

They all rushed forward and pinned Enzo down, who was still struggling.

Glimmer was still holding the handcuffs Enzo had given him.

Click!

The handcuffs were finally locked onto Enzo's own wrists.

At this moment, Enzo's face had become distorted.

He let out a low growl like a wild beast.

Pfft!

Dart, who was pressing down on Enzo, was instantly pierced through the body.

Behind him was a white bone spike.

However, Dart seemed oblivious, his arm still tightly gripping Enzo's neck.

The doctor turned and walked towards the door without hesitation.  

While walking, he said,  

‘Activate the emergency protocol for C03 Asylum!’  

In an instant, the alarm bells rang out.  

Steel doors dropped one after another in the corridor.  

No one in Dart's squad had any complaints about the doctor's departure.  

The doctor's importance went beyond simply leading the C03 Asylum.

Slick gave a wry smile.

‘It seems we are all going to meet our end here today! Well, maybe we can find a mountain to hide out in together!’

His words carried a hint of jest.

Little Rain punched him at the side.

‘What are you doing? You are still joking around!’

The other squad members looked ashen-faced.

Dart was in so much pain, he couldn't speak.  

Without Dart's instructions, the newly formed team members were like a bunch of headless flies.  

Enzo, who was being held down, let out a piercing laugh.  

‘It's all your fault! It's all your fault!’  

‘If it weren't for you guys, the plan would have gone smoothly!’

‘And that containment subject, I will definitely kill him!!’  

As he spoke, he had already broken free from Darts' hold.  

Behind him, a pair of bone wings spread open.  

They were stained with blood and flesh fragments.  

It was unclear whether they belonged to him, Dart, or both of them.  

Everyone fell into despair.

Such a monster was not something this group of newcomers could handle.

Moreover, this was a physical training room, and there were no weapons.

‘You want to kill me! Then come on! I can't wait anymore!’

At that moment, a playful voice rang out.

Enzo looked up at the source of the voice.

Lu Xiao was lying on the ceiling in an odd position, he was just like a spider and his hands were deeply embedded in the reinforced concrete ceiling.

He stuck out his crimson tongue and licked his lips.

His head was rotated 540 degrees to the back, staring at the people inside the training room.

This scene sent a chill down the spines of everyone present.

Even Enzo felt a chill run down his spine.  

“Don’t you guys think this guy is even scarier?”  

Slick felt like he was about to cry from fear, but he couldn’t help but joke.  

Compared to Enzo, who was flying in mid-air with his bone wings spread wide, Lu Xiao was like Sadako crawling out of the TV, while Enzo was like a toy from Hu Tutu.

At the same time, an strange aura began to emanate from Lu Xiao.

The members of the team didn't notice anything yet.

But Enzo, who was flying in mid-air, began to tremble uncontrollably.

‘No! It's impossible!’

His bone wings stopped flapping, and his hands flailed wildly in the air.

Bang!

His body remained in mid-air for less than three seconds before crashing to the ground with a thud.

His flesh made intimate contact with the ground.

He struggled to get up, but his body seemed to be firmly pinned down by something.

After landing, Lu Xiao crawled across the ground in a weird posture.

Crack, crack, crack!

His head snapped back into place, emitting a sound that would cause shivers down one's spine.

Enzo was lying on the ground and his eyes that were once a brilliant blue was now a deep crimson.

His lips trembled as he uttered three words.

‘High-Rank Entity!’
